or, A Pursuit of Formal Agreement with the Constitution of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Together with Certain Reasonable Disagreements *Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.* Proverbs 22:28 *The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.* Psalm 16:6 # Introduction In the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARPC)'s Form of Government, there are seven questions that must be posed to any person entering church office (elder or deacon). I thought it would be a good exercise as a member to think on these questions, and write down some reasoned thoughts regarding them. Most of these questions relate to simple affirmations of the duties of a Christian life, to which there should be no scruple. The two primary questions at hand for this exercise are as follows: *(3) Do you accept the doctrines of this Church, contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, as founded on the Word of God and as the expression of your own faith and do you resolve to adhere thereto?* *(4) Do you accept the government, discipline, and worship of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church?* I take the statements of "the doctrines of this Church," and "the government, discipline, and worship" of the church to be referring to the Constitution of the ARPC. The Form of Government defines the Constitution as consisting of: The Westminster Confession of Faith (as it has been received by the ARP General Synod), The Larger and Shorter Catechisms, The Form of Government, the Book of Discipline, The Directory of Public Worship, and the Directory of Private and Family Worship. I will go through each of these and work out my thoughts. # Outline Some of these sections may be combined as I go through them. - The Westminster Confession of Faith - [[An Apologetical Homologation - WCF I|Chapter I]] - Chapter II - Chapter III - Chapter IV - Chapter V - Chapter VI - Chapter VII - Chapter VIII - Chapter IX - Chapter X - Chapter XI - Chapter XII - Chapter XIII - Chapter XIV - Chapter XV - Chapter XVI - Chapter XVII - Chapter XVIII - Chapter XIX - Chapter XX - Chapter XXI - Chapter XXII - Chapter XXIII - Chapter XXIV - Chapter XXV - Chapter XXVI - Chapter XXVII - Chapter XXVIII - Chapter XXIX - Chapter XXX - Chapter XXXI - Chapter XXXII - Chapter XXXIII - The Larger and Shorter Catechisms - The Form of Government - The Book of Discipline - The Directory of Public Worship - The Directory of Private and Family Worship
